 Who: Lloyd OT Veronica
Where: Werewolf Heaven
When: March 25

Lloyd shuffled through the halls, his hands in his pockets, half smiling at the various wolves as they passed.  Things had been busy, between the pits and the vegetables.   He'd been working a lot and in between he'd been meditating and running to try to maintain his balance, like everyone else in the place.

But however bad he had it, he knew Veronica, Marcus's right hand woman had it ten times worse.    And she didn't have a family like Marcus did to escape to.  Thats why he was going to ask her if she wanted to go out somewhere.  That and because they were friends.  That was it.

She'd probably smell him coming, he though, with a smile.   It made him want to learn more magic so he could find people as easily as the wolves could.   He could probably tweak his sense of smell if he tried but how would he know who he was smelling if it were only temporary....

He came around the corner and saw her, talking to a group of people with shovels.   He approached and smiled at them, before tapping her on the shoulder.

"Veronica, you got a minute?"

Veronica hadn't smelled him coming. Well, she had, but she wasn't paying attention. She was too busy discussing the latest tunnel excavation. It seemed there was some problem with the concrete's structural integrity. Why oh why couldn't there have been an architect among them?

She blinked when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked around and smiled brightly at Lloyd.

"Sure!" She held up a finger to the others and stepped away. "What's up?"

"Uh..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Well... You work really hard and stuff and I already asked Marcus if it was ok and...well. I dunno. I just wondered if you wanted to go for a drive. We could get a bite and see a movie or something." He took his hand away. "If you are too busy that's fine but...you know. Plenty of capable people here, right?"

Veronica ducked her head a little, blushing. "That would be great." She said with a smile.

Of course, she knew they couldn't go too far, not as far as the city, anyway.

Lloyd smiled, looking less ruffled. "Great! We can't go far but it looks like there are patches of upper suburbia not too far out. There's bound to be some stuff worth eating. I wonder what's out at the theaters. I wonder if it matters." He added, his smile spreading to a grin. "As long as it's not a movie about teamwork or survival it should be great."

She actually giggled, and then mentally kicked herself. She was supposed to be bad-ass!

"No apocalypse films, that's for sure." Shrug. "Honestly, I don't know what's on. But I'm totally in the mood for a light-hearted comedy."

"Yeah." He nodded. "Ok. Sounds good. Uh. When is good, do you think?"
Mar. 27th, 2009 06:43 am (UTC)
She tilted her head far to the side, staring upwards, lost in thought. "Hmmm..... Tonight would be good, or tomorrow night. Really got nothing going until the sixth."

Lloyd smiled, looking down to hide his slight blush. "Tonight sounds good, then. Uh." he rubbed the back of his neck again.

"Right so. Uh. I'll be up picking a peck of pickled peppers. Let me know when you're...you know. done with stuff and good to go."

She glanced back at the group and their shovels. "Probably be done around five-thirty, so any time after that."
Mar. 28th, 2009 05:28 am (UTC)
Lloyd nodded. "Good. five thirty. I'll be up in the greenhouse." he grinned at his personal name for the normal room all his plants lived in, even though it was just a normal room like any of the others.

He nodded to the others in the room, then walked off before she changed her mind.

((OOC: New comment tree time or new post?))

She watched him go with a bit of a bewildered smile tugging at her lips.

She blinked and turned back to the others. "Okay...where was I?"

(( New tree in the same post works for me ))

Lloyd had changed into a pair of slacks and a sweater, if only because they had been machine washed, once upon a time. But he had not liked the implications and changed back into jeans, though the sweater had stayed. It was cold out, after all.

He dug his keys out of his dufflebag. He'd long since moved his car onto the grounds and hidden it. He probably hadn't thought about it in two weeks. Hopefully the old thing would keep running.

The peppers were picked, he was clean and neat and he had his wallet, his jacket and his keys. Nothing to do but wait.

Veronica had similar wardrobe issues. She stood in her room with the few clothes she had saved laid out on her bed. Another wolf, Kathryn, was sitting on the floor with her knees drawn up, watching.

"Okay..." Veronica said, picking up a red sweater. "This one? Does it say 'take me now,' or 'let's be friends?'"

Kathy shrugged one shoulder. "I think it says 'I'm a prude.'"

Veronica snorted and tossed the sweater at her friend, who caught it with her tongue out.

"Well, what do you want your outfit to say?" Kathy asked as she neatly folded the sweater and set it on the floor.

"I don't know!" Veronica whined and flopped down on the bed. She had to laugh at her sudden high school attitude. "Somewhere in the middle?"

Kathy got up from the floor and studied the spread. Finally she held up a deep violet blouse and a pair of black jeans. "Go with this and stop debating."

Veronica snatched the clothes out of Kathy's hands and changed quickly. She didn't care about her hair, she simply pulled it into a high ponytail and donned her favorite black leather duster.

She was ready to party. Or...something.
