Phone a friend?

 Who: Brier OT Tony
When: Sunday
Where: phone call

Brier slid into the kids' bedroom and had a seat on the bunk bed.  She reached over and shut the door behind her.  After a moment more of thought she locked it.

They'd split most of the people she was used to up this week.   She hadn't seen Tony for days, but someone told her the Olympians  had been getting 'vaccinations' this week.    She scrolled through the friend section of her phone, to the T's   Tony.   She pressed send, took a deep breath and waited.

"Hello?" Tony answered after the fourth ring. Usually he was more prompt, but right now he was tired and on Tamara's couch, and it took a few moments for him to find his phone.

"Hey Tony." Brier said. "You ok? Did I wake you or something? I was..." She paused for a split second, unsure how to ask her questions. She didn't want to admit that she had misgivings about the Guardians over the phone to him, by any means. "I haven't seen you in a few days, since they reassigned the teams. I was wondering if you wanted to grab a bite..."

"Heh. I'm being held hostage by my sister at the moment. You'd have to talk her into believing that I have friends first," Tony said, vaguely teasing. "She found out that I'm not feeling well and is feeding me junk food."

"Oh you aren't feeling well?" She asked. "Just a cold or what?." She frowned, not that he could see as much. "If your sister is taking care of you then I guess I should leave you be and let you rest. It's nothing serious I hope?" Her mind started to race. Had the vaccination done something to him? Now she wanted to see him even more than she had before but...

"Eh. I'm fine. I'm just tired, and my sister is freaking out and thinking I'm having a reaction to the vaccinations we got today. Really, I worked a full shift this morning, then went and trained for eight hours." Tony chuckled a bit. "Of -course- I'm tired."

"Oh. No fever or anything then? You'll be fine. She's probably just overreacting....I'd be tired if I did that. I'm having trouble even figuring out the math of how you managed it unless your morning shift was at 4 am. Do you need anything?" She glanced around the room trying to see if there was anything she could suggest he needed desperately for her to bring by.

"Heh, close," Tony said. "She says I feel warm. Do you have any good remedies for 'worried sister'?"

"I am told video games help my brothers ignore me when I am being one. But they might give you a headache if you are that tired. Just tell her to chill I guess, but that doesn't work so well sometimes..."
Mar. 27th, 2009 01:07 am (UTC)
"Okay, hold on," Tony said, and called, "Brier says you should chill."

Brier burst out laughing. Well, he seemed to be acting fairly normal for himself. "You know, she's there and I am not. Maybe she's perfectly within her rights to freak..."

"Hmph. I'm just fine," Tony groused. "I just had a long day." He did actually sound a bit more strained and cranky than usual.
